Berja is in the province of Almeria and about 45 Km from both the airport and centre of Almeria city. Berja town has approx 13,000 habitants and contains several tapas bars, restaurants, and take away food shops. There are banks, supermarkets and a post office in the town. Berja is the gateway to Las Alpujarras - a collection of mountain villages set amid scenic countryside- including Europe's highest village and Lanjaron which is famous for its spa and water production.
San Roque is a small rural village. It is truely Spanish - a quiet and relaxing environment for a family holiday or for those interested in walking or biking in the surrounding area. The property is 15 minutes drive from the fishing town of Adra with its working harbour, beaches and Tapas bars. The Tourist centre of Roquetas de Mar and popular Spanish beach resort of Aguadulce are easily reached within 40 minutes by car. There are also some truely stunning beaches to be found in the Cabo de Gata National park around an hours drive away. The historic city of Granada with the Alhambra and some excellent winter skiing amongst the Sierra Nevada mountains is around 1½ hours drive. This property represents an excellent base for a varied and vibrant holiday experience for the whole family
